Open up space for an easy flow of traffic
Once the project begins, the contractor will need a place to park their vehicle. You should also create a clear path between the door you want them to use to the bathroom they’ll be working on. There should be plenty of room along that path for them to get through with whatever tools or equipment they’ll be carrying.
It’s also a good idea to lay out some towels, old carpet scraps or cardboard in the path of traffic. This will make for better floor protection in a way that does not make things inconvenient for the bathroom contractor.
Clear the area
Before the contractor comes to your home, make sure you remove items from the bathroom where they’ll be working. If you want to get a little more hands-on with your remodel, you can remove some tile yourself. This saves the contractor some time, and saves you some money. This can be either flooring or tile on the walls. Removing what you can gives the contractor one less task to worry about and cuts down on your labor costs. However, be sure to talk to your contractor first before you decide to go ahead with this process.
